Itinerary

9 days, 8 nights

Day 1: Welcome to Japan

Arrive in Osaka and make your way to your hotel. After checking in, enjoy a local walk to take in your first sights and tastes of Japan.

Day 2: Free day in Osaka

Today is about clearing the jet lag hump and getting comfortable with your surroundings. Try some new foods and get used to the city energy.

Day 3: Osaka Castle and more

Take a journey through the peaceful Osaka Castle Park on your way to the impressive 16th-century Castle. Explore the inside and climb the steep stairs for an incredible view. Tonight, travelers will explore Dotonbori and find a 4-seat bar perfect for them.

Day 4: Food tour

Today is about food… so much food. Your guide will do their best to explain the incredible and insanely tasty food creations the Japanese serve on the streets of Osaka. Look forward to sushi, beef, crab, and octopus balls. 

Day 5: Hiroshima day trip

Enjoy a scenic train ride to Hiroshima, known for its pivotal role in ending the Second World War; this city has more than history to offer. Discover the power of atomic weapons at the Peace Memorial Museum, and see firsthand how the city and people have moved forward, all while never forgetting the past.

Day 6: Free day in Kyoto

Take the short journey to Kyoto, although nearby, Kyoto and Osaka have very different characteristics. Explore the picturesque Higashiyama district near your hotel and stop at the Kiyomizu-dera temple.

Day 7: Sake experience and dinner

Kyoto may be renowned for its numerous religious sites and stunning scenery, but it is also the heart of sake brewing. Follow a sake sommelier as they explain and share the different types and flavors of sake. End the night at a welcoming, traditional Japanese restaurant.

Day 8: Zen experience

Walk the Philosopher’s Path through stunning neighborhoods, over canals, and down the hills. Stop in Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines along the way. This is an opportunity to tap into your inner Buddha, utilizing nature and peaceful architecture to unwind. 

Day 9: Nara day trip

The day in Nara is up to you. Feeding the deer in Nara Park, viewing “the great Buddha of Nara”, and counting the lanterns at Kasuga Taisha Shrine are all good options.

Day 10: Fly Home

  • Round trip flights to Osaka with tickets booked for the Shinkansen bullet train to and from Kyoto.

  • Expect to stay near the action, hotels will be located a short distance from the best of the action. All accomodations are comfotable and functional.

  • From museum tickets to restaurant reservations, everything you could hope to see or do will be ready before you even arrive.
