Kings of Beer

Munich + Prague

Two of Central Europe’s most exciting yet charming cities, Munich and Prague, boast rich history while beaming with energy. Wander the preserved medieval streets in Prague and delve into the horrors of 20th-century fascism in Germany, learning from the political mistakes and inspiring people's movements along the way. On the other hand, countless beer halls, beer gardens, and noisy restaurants provide classic dishes and the best beer culture Europe has to offer. Whether you are alone or part of a group, adventurous or not, the culture and lively atmospheres of these cities will leave you with lifelong memories.

Itinerary

8 days, 7 nights

Day 1: Arrive in Munich, Germany

Arrive in Munich, the lively capital of Bavaria, and prepare for a feast of beer, bread, and hearty fare. Stroll through the charming Altstadt (Old Town), then kick off your trip with your first beer and bite at the lovely Viktualienmarkt.

Day 2: Dive into Munich’s royal past and rowdy present

The regions surrounding Munich are rich with remarkable sights, architecture, and history. Depending on your interests, you might explore the charming Alpine town of Garmisch, marvel at the fairytale beauty of Neuschwanstein Castle, or reflect at the historic grounds of the Dachau Concentration Camp.

Day 3: Choose the day trip for you

Begin your day with a visit to the magnificent Munich Residenz, once home to Bavarian royalty and filled with centuries of art and history. Afterward, immerse yourself in local culture by exploring Munich’s iconic beer gardens and traditional beer halls.

Day 4: Historic Nuremberg

Leave Munich early for a full day in Nuremberg, a medieval gem brimming with history and charm. Explore Renaissance art, powerful WWII landmarks, and beautifully preserved architecture as you wander cobbled streets and soak in the city’s rich cultural layers.

Day 5: Continue to Prague

A scenic 3-hour train ride through the heart of Central Europe brings you to Prague, the “City of a Thousand Spires.” Once the capital of the Holy Roman Empire, it dazzles with its rich architecture, vibrant culture, and endless opportunities to eat, drink, and explore.

Day 6: Morning walk and Prague Castle

Begin your morning with a peaceful walk across Prague, enjoying the nearly empty Charles Bridge and the quiet charm of its cobbled streets. On the east side of the Vltava River, stop for breakfast, explore the majestic Prague Castle, and take in some of the city’s most stunning viewpoints.
